When I first wanted to start an internet business trying to make a living online, I really had no idea what to do. I admit it. I was about as lost as one person could be. So the first thing I did was to go to the search engines and see what was out there. I looked up “Work At Home” and went through the results.
The first site I came to was called “Paid Response” which was a company that paid you to type ads on the Internet. It sounded good because you didn’t have to sell anything or recruit anyone to make money. All you had to do was type ads. So, I paid my $69 fee to “work” for this company and started to post my ads.
Well, time went on and I wasn’t getting anywhere with this internet business opportunity. So, I started looking elsewhere. I then found another company called Instant Pay Day. I wasn’t exactly sure what they were about, but I figured I’d give them a shot. I pretty much let Paid Response fall by the wayside.
Unfortunately, Instant Pay Day wasn’t doing much better so I started looking for other things. I then found a site called PayPal Randomizer. This one would send me random payments each time somebody joined the site, whether or not I was the one who brought them in.
Can you guess where this ended up? I’ll tell you where. I almost lost my PayPal account because these sites are against PayPal’s terms of service. I was lucky as PayPal only gave me a warning and didn’t close my account on me.
The internet business sites kept coming and coming. In the course of my first year online, I joined no less than 142 different programs. If I didn’t make my fortune right away, I was gone and off to the next “get rich quick scheme” to make my millions.
It’s been a long time since I’ve jumped from program to program but I learned something from this experience.
No matter what you do, you have to focus on it to the exclusion of all other things. If you’re jumping around from project to project or program to program, you’re not going to get anything accomplished.
This specifically applies to those of us who are running our own business and creating our own products. So many marketers will begin creating a product, get bored with it or come up with another idea while they’re working on this product and drop it to work on the other idea. Think you’re not going to end up dropping that product as well? Trust me, you will.
Without focus, we can’t get anything done. It’s that simple. In some ways, focus may be the most important thing, especially if you don’t have it. So please, as Major Winchester from MASH said, “Do one thing, do it well and then move on.”
I achieve internet business success when I joined the plugin profit site. The program teaches you what you want to know to start making money online. It has 30 day step by step coaching so that you are guided in promoting your internet business.
