I had just come up with an idea ever for my internet business. I had no doubt that this thing was going to rake in millions of dollars. All I had to do was create the product, design an ad campaign, and launch the whole thing. So, I started work on the product. It took me months to complete. Finally, I had it done. It was then time for the launch. I got the product registered with Clickbank, made sure that everything was set to go and did my launch.

I had created a dynamite ad for this product. I had no doubt that the uniqueness of this ad was going to bring me in lots of sales. I had worked very hard on this ad. It took me 2 hours to write, which is a long time for an ad, especially for me, since I had been writing email ads for years. Finally, I had it just the way I wanted it. I was ready to let this thing loose.

The day came and the launch went off. Oddly, no sales were coming in, AT ALL. I didn’t know what was going on. I could understand maybe things being a little slow, but no sales at all? I was totally confused. I checked the internet business web site to make sure it was up and running, which it was. I couldn’t understand what the problem could be.

Well, to make a long story short, I went through every part of the launch. Finally, I said to myself, “Maybe I wrote a really crappy ad.” So, I decided to check the ad. Well, guess what I found? The ad itself was fine; great actually. The problem was…

I FORGOT THE LINK!

Okay, I admit it. I made a totally boneheaded play. I was so wrapped up in crafting a great ad that I forgot that I had to include the link in the email in order for people to get to the site.

Now I was confronted with the old, “Oh here we go, he forgot the link scam.” But in my case it was true. So, I resent the email and of course I got a few opt outs because of people not believing that I forgot the link, but I did end up making a lot of sales. What made me angry is that I could have prevented people from opting out if I had just paid attention to detail.

There is no step by step process I can give you for paying attention to detail. It is something that you simply develop over time. Because there are so many aspects to running an internet business, I can’t even give you a list of things to keep in mind. We’d be here all day.

So here’s the best advice I can give you. Whatever you do for your internet business, please check it and then check it again. One mistake, like the boneheaded one that I made when launching my new product, can cost you thousands of dollars in sales.

Attention to detail…I can’t stress it enough.
